A smart and stylish way to finish the look of your kitchen worktop, an upstand sits neatly in the join to the adjacent wall to create a border area. Not only is this a great way to improve hygiene in your kitchen, as it's much easier to clean, but it also helps to protect your worktops from water ingress. A cost-effective alternative to glass or tiles, laminate offers a range of surface options - including matte and gloss, as well as wood and stone imitation options. Rearo worktop upstands begin at just £30.63 (ex VAT) and are supported by a 10-year guarantee.
What is the difference between a kitchen upstand and splashback?
Both offer the same purpose, to protect your kitchen walls from cooking spills, but it's the size of each product that is the key difference. Kitchen splashbacks are designed to cover full wall areas, whereas upstands only provide a borderline of protection. It's quite common practice in contemporary kitchen design to now use both together, with the upstand performing more of an aesthetic requirement. Across both our Senses and Heritage upstand collections we offer two size options, with varying height and thickness - 3000mm x 100mm x 20mm and 3000 x 350mm x 18mm.
