Product Overview

  • UK manufactured
  • 10-year guarantee

The sister product to our best-selling Silver Rain wall panel, our Travertine Rain wall boards have the same bark inspired texture but, in this instance, take on a natural brown palette.

This decorative wall design is neutral by nature and can be used as a feature panel or in conjunction with other panels.

Our best picks are our Selkie Cappuccino wall panel or Nuova Nera Stone wall panel.

Suited for use in bathrooms, shower areas and wet rooms, this completely waterproof surface offers a modern and stylish substitute to tiles.

Available in a variety of laminate finishes, this waterproof system is manufactured in Scotland to the highest standards, whilst boasting a comprehensive 10-year guarantee.

All Selkie products are supplied class 2 fire rated as standard; however, they can be tailored for Class 1 or Class 0 if required.

What is the price of wall panelling?

Bathroom wall panels are sold individually and measure 2420 mm (height) x 1200 mm (width) x 11 mm (thickness), boasting a comprehensive 10-year guarantee.

Price will depend on the core and finish selected.

Are wall panels more cost effective than tiles?

Wall panels by comparison to tiles are a cost effective solution.

Their lightweight structure makes them easy to navigate, reducing installation time and therefore labour costs.

Typically a standard sized bathroom can be completed in a matter of hours, whereas tiling can take on average up to 16 hours.

Do you have other wall panelling options?

Yes. As well as our laminate wall panels, we stock a range of pvc wall panels and tile effect wall panels, as well as complementary ceiling panels.

Ceiling panels are easily applied to bathroom areas with the assistance of screws, adhesive and silicone sealant, their tongue and groove system guarantees an inconspicuous join.

Which edge should I select for my project?

Selkie panels are available in both a square edge & tongue and groove interlocking system

Square edge panels are clean cut and must be joined via trims (found within our bathroom accessories section), these are most typically used to complete shower areas.

Meanwhile, Tongue and Groove panels are designed to slot in seamlessly to each other, allowing for panels to be applied to larger wall spaces without disruption.

Please note: During a Tongue & Groove panel installation, Selkie colour match sealant must be used on all joints.

What is the difference between plywood and mdf?

In general, the difference comes from the structure of both materials.

Plywood is the traditional choice, made from multiple layers of natural thin veneer that are glued together.

Meanwhile, MDF is engineered by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, which are then combined with wax and resin to create a smooth surface.

Typically, MDF costs less than plywood, due to its manmade structure, however both materials boast the same waterproof qualities.

How do you fit bathroom wall boards?

There are a wide range of corner and edging trims available to finish your panels to perfection.

Choose from a satin anodised, white powder coated, black powder coated or a luxury polished aluminium effect to achieve your perfect finish.

For a 2 panel corner sited shower you will require: 1 Internal Corner and 2 End Cap trims.

For a 3 panel 'U' shaped enclosure you will require: 2 Internal Corners and 2 End Caps.

You may also want to consider using a Panseal Kit also available in the Accessories section, to seal the bottom joint between panels, bath edges and shower trays.

Many fitters prefer to sit the panels onto the shower tray and use silicone to seal, but as it is essential to prevent water ingress we recommend using the Panseal Kit to give you a better, longer lasting seal with a cleaner, more aesthetic finish.

And don't forget to order your silicone sealant and wall panel adhesive - also available in the Accessories section.

Can wall panels be used in other rooms?

Yes. Thanks to their class 2 fire rating, our panels are also suited to being used for kitchen splashback applications.

Commercial users also decorate bedroom areas with our products as a long lasting alternative to paint or wallpaper walls.
