What is a butcher's block worktop?

Traditionally Butcher Block is formed by assembling multiple wood offcuts from various species to create heavy-duty work surfaces.

Typically using hard maple, teak, birch, or walnut, this is what gives a butch block wooden worktop its colour variety.

We achieve this same look by scanning a solid wood surface and printing on decorative paper to form high-pressure laminate sheets.

Are butcher block countertops high maintenance?

With our laminate alternative, you can have the look of a butcher block minus the maintenance requirements.

Laminate worktops void the requirement for oiling and simply need to be catered to with a damp cloth and mild detergent when spillages and grease occur.

Possessing both style and functionality, not only will your worktop impress for its look but will also withstand the rigors of modern living.

Accessories required for butcher's block worktops

For a professional result, we recommend the use of our bespoke match ColorFill sealant and spatula when joining two mitred worktops together.

Alternatively, for a quick fix, we also stock a range of worktop trims with our kitchen accessories section.

One-metre edging strips are also available to buy to cover any exposed edges should you need to cut the length of your selected worktop.
